Soma is a professional Madhubani artist who loves mixing traditional patterns and motifs with modern elements in her paintings. She started Madhubani as a means to meditative painting and as a way to deal with stress. She draws inspiration from mythology, Indian folk tales, and day to day lives. Indian women are the central characters in her paintings.
She does exhibitions in various galleries and museums across the UK where she currently resides. She does online tutorials, carries out weekend workshops through various art learning platforms, and also shares Madhubani art videos through her Instagram handle.
Her works have been recently featured in The Ideal Home and Garden Magazine, India, and the Mumbai Mirror. One of her original painting was commissioned for the UK govt sponsored multicultural integration program - Integrate' 2019. Soma is now actively developing content for her first Madhubani coloring books.
In addition to being a Madhubani artist, Soma is an avid photographer, and her works were featured in National Geographic Magazine and were published in the national geographic learning textbook – ‘Pathways’. Her photography was also featured in one of the community magazines in Vancouver, Canada.
